• Do items shipped from HairAddition.com mention the term 'wig' or 'wigs' anywhere?

No.  Because some customers do not want the word "wig" to appear on any packages they receive, the return address on all packages is: "SD Beauty Lab".



• Does HairAddition.com sell or distribute my name and personal information?

HairAddition.com will not sell, rent or lend your personal account information in any way and you will not be contacted directly by any third party.  HairAddition.com will not give out the names of any of our customers, nor any information regarding any of our customers to anyone, without the customer's consent.

If you purchase a product or service from HairAddition.com, the information you give, such as your credit card number, purchase information and contact information, is provided to the banking merchants.  This is simply to enable transactions to take place.  We are also sometimes obligated to determine credit-worthiness of our users.



• What security precautions are in place to protect me?

When you transmit credit card information to complete a purchase or for verification purposes, we always transmit that credit card number in an encrypted format.  We use the industry-standard, 128-bit SSL (secure socket layer) encryption.  We are using the services of a respected company that specializes in protecting credit card transactions.

While we strive to protect your personal information, HairAddition.com cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information during transmission to us or from our online products or services, and you do so at your own risk.  Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.  However, our site is as secure as, if not more secure than, most sites.  And as you probably know, credit card companies will waive the fees on any transactions which you did not authorize.



• What is a "secure server" anyway?

No, it's not a host computer with an over-abundance of self-confidence!  Web browsers can typically operate in "normal" mode and in "secure" mode.  You can tell which mode your browser is in by looking at the toolbar at the bottom of the browser window.  If you see a broken key, or an open padlock, you are in normal mode.  If the key is whole, or the padlock is closed, you are in "secure" mode.  When you surf the Internet in "normal" mode, all of the information you type into your browser and all the information the website sends to you are visible to eavesdroppers.  When your browser is in "secure" mode it encrypts all the information between itself and the server.  Encrypted information looks like meaningless garbage to eavesdroppers, so your personal information is secure.



• What are "cookies" and how does HairAddition.com use them?

Another interesting Internet browser-related term, having nothing to do with products produced my Mrs.  Fields or Nabisco!  A cookie is a small amount of text that is sent to your browser from a web server and stored on your computer's hard drive.  We ask permission to place the cookie on your computer's hard drive.  If you agree by configuring your browser to accept cookies, then your browser adds the text in a small file - and you can always delete these files later if you choose.
